distracted. and some photo's from Matthew's birthday.

I was thinking about this here blogdango this morning, and I remembered that some people post a photo without a caption on Wednesdays. They fittingly title the blog post, 'Wordless Wednesday.' That is what I decided I was going to do today. Here is the picture I was going to post.

I wasn't going to tell you it's my Dad and Matthew while we were crossing the foot ferry between Port Orchard and Bremerton on Monday, June 3--Matthew's 14th birthday.

But I got distracted.

Instead I powered up the computer and instead of clicking the Blogger bookmark, I went straight to Facebook. I noticed it's my Aunt's birthday today, I wrote a little message on her wall.  Then I saw a funny picture on a cousin's wall, so I clicked on the album and looked at about 100 other funny photos. I Facebook stalked two of my friends and then headed to Pinterest. There wasn't a lot of new stuff there, so I read new blog posts that I'm following and headed back to Facebook one more time. One of my friends had posted this picture.

Then I remembered I was supposed to be blogging. Not some long blog. Just a picture with a blog title. Apparently, that was too much for my little brain to handle. I got up, ate a brownie [I have problems] and thought about all the things I have been distracted by. My life is much like the book "If you give a mouse a cookie".

This week Ken and I went to Target to buy Ambisol. We bought a puzzle, a $4 movie and a gift for one of our children for Christmas. It was almost our turn to pay when we realized we hadn't bought what we came into the store for. We got out of line.

Last week I was washing my hands in the kitchen sink when I noticed my nails were getting a little long. I dried my hands and walked down the hall to get the clippers from my bathroom and noticed the pictures in the hallway were crooked. I fixed those, and while I was looking at them I remembered an idea I had for a quilt block so I went to my sewing stuff, drew out a block and picked fabric for it. I had a few things on the counter that needed put away so I could cut fabric. I cleaned it off, then worked on a puzzle Nicole had out. The girls got home and it was time to make dinner. When I washed my hands before making dinner, that was when I remembered I needed to clip to my fingernails.

I accidentally reset my phone to it's factory settings a month ago. I've gotten on the computer no less than 5 times to put music and my ringtones back on this phone and I still haven't done it. I should do it right now, but I know if I do, this post won't get published and I'll likely forget all about it once I see something shiny.

I've checked 3 other websites while writing this post already.

Here's another picture from Matthew's birthday. He doesn't like cake, so we put a candle in watermelon.

I'm going to Idaho on Saturday, or Friday. It was supposed to be Sunday. Not only do I get easily distracted, I'm sometimes indecisive.

Just now Matthew asked me for a piece of paper. I took it to him, decided we were going to have grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch, got bread out, saw that it was moldy, threw the bread in the trash, called my Dad, and then remembered this blog post.

I need Ritalin.

Here's one more picture from the foot ferry.

I just deleted a paragraph about going to Idaho this weekend. I had forgotten that I'd told you.

In other news:
  • The weather has been really nice this week.
  • Matthew and I mowed and weed wacked the yard last night. The part I mowed looks akin to the buzz cut I gave Garen when he was in 6th grade...Not very good.
  • One time I gave Garen half a haircut and then finished it the next day. I'm not very nice.
  • I already apologized. Profusely.
  • School is out on June 13.
  • I graduated from High School on June 13, 1996.
  • Nicole was a part of a 1980s throwback concert last Friday. They were instructed to dress the part. This picture doesn't begin to show the magnificence of her hair. Especially her bangs.  They were 5 inches tall. Isn't she beautiful!

  • Anna can say her Rs now. There is no more talk of scwiptoes, decowations or cougoes. It's all scriptures, decorations and her deep hatred of cougars. [The animal, not a mascot for any number of sport teams.] I'm glad she has out grown that impediment, but it's a little bit sad too. Since I'm not an advocate of baby talk, I'm more glad than sad.
  • I am now thinking about Gladd trash bags. Don't be sad. Get Gladd.
  • I just put the ringtones back on my phone.
  • I started this post three hours ago.
Here is one last picture for you. They are on their way to Anna's school. Don't we live in a beautiful place?!

Have a good day! Enjoy the sunshine!

I totally do the same thing when writing blog post. I start one topic, and end with something completely different. Meanwhile I've eaten 5 snacks, visited facebook 7 times, read the news, gone to the bathroom, and played 9 piano songs.

That's why we're friends.

Ha! What a perfect day for me to read this! The many teenagers in my life (who are really awesome, and who--without exception) I love very much) have decided that this summer their project is to keep me from being distracted. I say "Good luck with LOOK! A Squirrel!"

Also, what the heck is a "foot ferry"? Related to the tooth fairy?
